Marquis Cosimo Ridolfi, regarded as a father of modern agriculture, founded the Institute of Agriculture in Pisa.

At Villa Bibbiani, he created an exceptional botanical garden, introducing plants from around the world.

Today, sixteen hectares of luxuriant Italian gardens are framed by lawns and woodland - a singular natural sanctuary in the heart of Tuscany.

The Park

The garden of Villa Bibbiani is an open-air treasure made up of various exotic plants and ancient trees. A park that surrounds and embeds the villa like the jewel it is.Within the botanical park of Villa Bibbiani, there are unique varieties and ancient trees planted by Marquis Ridolfi himself. It was he who created this splendid acclimatization park, importing foreign species, in some cases for the first time in Italy. To this is added a beautiful Italian garden and historic greenhouses that once housed his famous collection of camellias.

A Gem in the Heart of Montalbano

The entire estate covers 400 hectares stretching from Montalbano to the Arno plain. Villa Bibbiani is the focal point of this magnificent corner of Tuscany.

From a botanical point of view, the garden behind the villa is the most important part, as it hosts several ornamental exotic species. Some specimens were introduced for the first time in Italy by the Marquis himself.

Villa Bibbiani is a beautiful Italian resort located on the southern slopes of Montalbano with more than 1,300 years of history and elegance.

The former greenhouses, now finely restored, once housed the Camellia collection of the Marquis Cosimo Ridolfi. In fact, a variety bears his name, Camelia Ridolfiana. It was selected within Bibbiani by the Marquis himself.
