Description
Blend: Cabernet Sauvignon 100%
Vineyard: Forapiaga/Pulignano.
Planting Year: 1970 – 1990
Density per hectare: 4.500 strains
Yield per hectare: 4.5 tons
Vine training system: Guyot and spurred cordon.
Vinification: It goes well with the noble Tuscan gastronomy with red meats, roasts, game and aged cheeses. To better understand its complexity and aromatic notes it still gives its best when tasted alone, a unique wine of its kind.
Maturation and ageing: Eight-month period in French oak barriques followed by six months in 25- hectolitre Slavonian oak barrels.
Tasting notes: Solid and deep, like the roots of Villa Bibbiani in the Tuscan land, Montereggi IGT has a very intense ruby red colour. A complex nose of spices combined with hints of roasted coffee and cocoa. In the mouth, it is pervasive and gives long lasting flavours, with silky and vibrant tannins. With great personality and high potential for ageing, it is a genuine expression of a Cabernet Sauvignon that has found its perfect home in the Tuscan hills.
